
Naomi Eckels
Naomi Eckels is a native of Atlanta, GA but grew up spending many summers and holidays in Bamberg with her grandparents John and Sally Mae Haynes. In July of 2018, she and her family relocated from Atlanta to Bamberg, South Carolina. She is married to her husband Jeffrey Eckels, and together they have three children. Two of their children currently attend Bamberg County School District Schools, Omari a member of the 2021 graduating class, and Nalanie a middle school student and active member of the BEHS JV volleyball team.
Naomi holds a B.S. degree in Computer Information Science from Spelman College and MBA in Global Management from The University of Phoenix. She has an extensive background with over 13 years as an IT (computer) professional and currently works as a Relationship Manager for one of the largest Consumer-Directed benefits companies in the country.
Naomi developed a passion for serving as a student at Spelman College, and is continuing the tradition of “Women Who Serve.” She has volunteered and served for numerous civic and community organizations which currently include roles in the Bamberg Branch NAACP (member), and assistant coach at Bamberg-Ehrhardt high school girls basketball program. She is also a member and currently attends Free Gift Baptist Church in Bamberg, South Carolina.
Naomi has a passion for education and believes wholeheartedly that our future depends on the success and well-being of our children. Naomi looks forward to collaborating with school board members, educators, and parents to build a brighter future for our students and contributing to the legacy of educational excellence in Bamberg County.
