Testing
South Carolina requires the following assessments:
ELEMENTARY
4K: myIGDIs (Individual Growth and Development Indicators of Early Literacy); administered to 4K students during the 1st 45 days of school and again during the last 45 days.
5K: KRA (Kindergarten Readiness Assessment); administered to 5K students during the 1st 45 days of school.
Grade 2: CogAt and Iowa--assessments for determining eligibility for Gifted and Talented identification. The testing window for Fall 2022 is October 10-28.
3-5: SCReady: English Language Arts and Math assessment; Spring 2023 administration will be conducted as online testing during the last twenty days of school. Schools will post their grade and subject-level schedules closer to the testing window.
4 & 6: SCReady: Science: Spring 2023 administration will be conducted as online testing during the last twenty days of school in grades 4 and 6. Schools will post their grade and subject-level schedules closer to the testing window.
WIDA ACCESS: administered in grades 5K-12 to identified English Learner students to assess English Language Acquisition. The state testing window is January 23-March 10, 2023.
SC-Alt: Core Content (ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies) assessments administered to identified severely cognitively disabled students. The state testing window is March 6-April 21, 2023.
MIDDLE
6-8: SCReady: English Language Arts and Math assessment; Science assessment in 6th grade; Spring 2023 administration will be conducted as online testing during the last twenty days of school. Schools will post their grade and subject-level schedules closer to the testing window.
WIDA ACCESS: administered in grades 5K-12 to identified English Learner students to assess English Language Acquisition. The state testing window is January 23-March 10, 2023.
End of Course Examination: 8th grade Honors Math class students at Bamberg Ehrhardt Middle School will take Algebra 1 online on a date in May 2023 tbd. The date will be posted on the school website closer to the testing window.

High
End of Course Examination: Algebra 1, English 2, US History, Biology. Fall 2022 testing will occur during the last 15 days of the semester. A subject-specific schedule will be posted on school websites closer to the testing window.
Career Readiness Assessment: For current 11th grade students. The WIN Career Readiness Assessment window is March 27-April 14. Please check the appropriate school calendar for specific testing dates.

Non-Required Assessments:
College-entrance assessments for 11th graders: Students may opt to take either The ACT or The SAT. This is the only test offering from the State of South Carolina that students may opt out of taking.
