eLearning
Bamberg County School District
Updated eLearning Days Plan 2025 - 2026
This district is designated as an eLearning District. Those districts who meet the criteria for an eLearning District as determined by the Department of Education may use up to five eLearning days to allow for the make-up of short-term disruptions to in-person teaching and learning.
Expectations
Each student will be assigned a dedicated Chromebook for instructional use. This device may be used both in school and at home, ensuring continuous access to the district’s Learning Management System (Google Classroom). Each school retains discretion to determine when Chromebooks are sent home to students and will develop a deployment plan for eLearning Days.
If conditions permit and it is reasonable to expect that both students and teachers can continue instruction at home, students may be required to log in to Google Classroom during disruptions to in-person learning, such as inclement weather, emergencies, or unforeseen circumstances. The district has scheduled inclement-weather makeup days on the calendar. The district may choose to make up a day with eLearning.
Expectations for eLearning Days
On an eLearning Day, students are expected to complete assignments provided through the Bamberg County School District (BCSD) eLearning Platform. The day is asynchronous, meaning there are no required live (synchronous) virtual meetings. This allows students and families the flexibility to complete schoolwork on their own schedule during the day.
Assignment Expectations
● All grade-specific assignments will be accessible through the eLearning platform or provided by the teacher.
● Students should make every effort to complete the assignments on the day they are assigned.
Due Dates
● Work assigned on an eLearning Day is due within 5 school days of the missed day unless otherwise specified by the teacher.
● Students who do not have access to the internet or experience technical issues should notify their school as soon as possible to arrange for alternative submission options.
Attendance on eLearning Days
Student attendance on an eLearning Day is determined by the completion and submission of assigned work.
To be marked present:
● Students must complete and submit their eLearning assignments within 5 school days of the eLearning Day, unless otherwise directed by the teacher.
● Teachers will verify completion and report attendance accordingly.
Failure to complete the assigned work within the designated timeframe may result in the student being marked absent for that day. If there are any issues accessing assignments or completing work, parents should contact the school as soon as possible for support or alternate arrangements.
Schedule
Teachers will have access to the same LMS ( Google Classroom) and will be available during the hours of 8 am-4 pm to assist students.
